New Advanced DBT Group
Lakeview center is pleased to announce that a new advanced DBT group is forming run by Anjannette Padilla Ryan.
This is a group for those who have completed the four DBT skills modules and would like to further incorperate skills into their lives on an ongoing basis. THis is an intective group that continues skill building in a supportive environment. Group membership requires a commitment of at least four months, and new members will be added to the group at regular intervals.

Anjanette Padilla Ryan, PhD is a doctor of clinical psychology who received her degree from the New School in New York. She is currently a post-doctoral fellow at Cathedral Counseling Center and was previously a Cardiac Psychology Fellow at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She specializes in stress management and mindfulness-based therapies. She completed training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Committment Therapy and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.   Dr. Padilla Ryan specializes in work with individuals and couples with mood disorders, relationship issues, identity formation, anxiety, coping with chronic illness, health behavior changes, pain management and stress reduction. DBT seeks to empower survivors and enhance their quality of living by providing skills training in areas such as relationship effectiveness, emotion regulation, and mindfulness.

Eating Disorders DBT Group Forming
In this group clients will learn skills to replace distructive eating related behavior and begin to identify manage states of mind that lead to problems with food and body image.

Lakeview Center Welcomes New Nutritionist

Rebecca L. Bohn, RN is a registered nurse, certified personal trainer and nutrition therapist specializing in nutrition counseling for eating disorders.  She has over twenty years experience treating eating disorders and has conducted intake assessments, nutrition assessment and group and individual treatment at Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s Outpatient Eating Disorder Program.  Ms. Bohn had consulted for Northwestern and DePaul University’s female athletic teams and provided group and individual treatment at the Women’s Athletic Club of Chicago.  She has given numerous presentations on eating disorders and non-dieting weight management programs.  She is available for individual and group nutrition counseling and exercise counseling in her private studio.

DBT Consultation Group
Lakeview Center for Psychotherapy offers a consultation group for therapists who have some training in DBT and are using DBT in their clinical work. The group begins with an experiential mindfulness experience, then we discuss DBT concepts and apply them to our clinical work. At some meetings we are joined by one of our consultants, Dr. Freda Friedman and Dr. Michael Maslar.

The monthly consultation group meets on Wednesdays from 11-12. Additionally, we will have occasional meetings and trainings with our consultants. Our next intensive training is tentatively scheduled for June 2011. Check back or call for more details.

Women's Interpersonal Therapy Group
For women interested in personal growth and looking to learn more about
themselves and in their relationships with others. In a small group of 6 to 8 women, members will explore relationship patterns and support each other's efforts toward growth and change.

Lakeview Center is Offering Low Fee Psychoanalysis
For indivividal who want to understand and change long-standing patterns in their relationships with self and others, psychoanalysis is an intensive treatment that utilizes the relationship with the analyst as a means way to access unconscious feelings, wishes, and fears. In psychoanalysis the client meets with the analyst 3-4 times a week.

New Therapists Supervision Group--Group supervision offers an affordable way to receive consultation at the start of your career. This group is geared to therapists who have just finished a graduate program or who are just sarting a private practice. We will focus on professional development, marketing, and the basics of starting a practice, as well as discussion cases from an integrative relational perspective.
