Lakeview Center for Psychotherapy provides individual and couples therapy for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender clients. We understand the complex challenges that are often part of the lives of these clients and seek to offer help in an informed and sensitive manner. Common areas of concern include the coming-out process, questioning sexual orientation, identity, social stigma, non-acceptance from friends and family, relationships, blended families, and family building. Services are available for individuals as well as couples.
Transgender clients often have difficulty finding a therapist who is responsive to and informed about their unique needs. At Lakeview Center for Psychotherapy, several of our therapists have experience working with transgender clients in transition. Issues that may be addressed include coming-out issues specific to transgender people, relationships with family members, career-related issues, and identity adjustment.
